Forms of Procurement
There are 2 types of contracting environment that influences the way procurement is performed.
- Centralised Contracting Environment
In this type of organisation, there is one procurement manager, one procurement department, who handles procurement on many projects, reports to the head of department of procurement. The project manager contacts him for help.
- Decentralised Contracting Environment
In this type of organisation, a procurement manager is assigned to one project full time and reports directly to the project manager
