Are the Ibo tribe the most un appreciated ethnic group in Nigeria? Reason been that i hear cries of marginalisation everyday here and there. And also majorly, Nigeria is still yet to have an Ibo president. Have they offended Nigeria?

One would not say they have sinned, but all accusing fingers tend to point to the beginning which was set off by this fine officer above called Nzeogwu.

Ahmadu Bello. Born June 12, 1910, in Modern day Sokoto State. He is the one on the N200 Naira Note. He was the Premier, i.e Prime Minister of Northern Nigeria and also chairman of the Northern Peoples Congress.

Samuel Ladoke Akintola. Born July 6, 1910, Ogbomosho, Modern day Oyo State Nigeria. He was the premier of South West Nigeria. He was a member of the Action Group (AG).

Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. Born October 1, 1912, in Modern Day Bauchi State Nigeria. He was the Prime Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Why assassinate the Northern Premier, South Western Premier and then leave both the South Eastern Premier and Nigerian President untouched?

Michael Iheonukara Okpara. Born 25 December 1920 in Umuahia, present day Abia State. He was the Premier of Eastern Nigeria.

Nnamdi Azikiwe. Born November 16, 1904, Zungeru, modern day Niger State Nigeria. He was Nigeria's President at the time.

Leaving these two prominent Eastern leaders raised suspicions in many quarters. I believe this started the hate and was followed by massive pogrom, according to Wikipedia "a violent riot aimed at the massacre or persecution of an ethnic or religious group" of the Igbo's in the North. This lasted between May 29 – early October 1966. See References.

According to Last, Murray (October 2005) "The lack of Igbo humility has been identified as one of the factors that sparked the pogroms". From the pogrom to the bitter civil war of 1967. (Nigerian Civil War 6 July 1967 – 15 January 1970).

The pogrom made the Igbo's think of breaking away from Nigeria and have their own country called Biafra. According to Wikipedia, "Biafra represented nationalist aspirations of the Igbo people, whose leadership felt they could no longer coexist with the Northern-dominated federal government."

The Igbo aspiration was led by a Lt. Col in the Nigerian Army. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. Born November 4, 1933, in Zungeru, modern day Niger State.

The war claimed unconfirmed civilian casualties of "about two million civilians, who died mostly from starvation and disease." Wikipedia, 2016.

Anyway these were the past, and the past shouldn't dictate your future. The Igbo's are highly industrious and a successful people. Not producing the president of the nation doesn't make you un appreciated.
