Literacy is language in use that is speaking, listening, reading and writing. Literacy is the ability to read and use written information appropriately in arrange of content for instance to speak or to acquire information to develop critical thinking.

During the first 3 years, young children begin to learn about print and writing. (printing wood) and how oral language is reflected in written symbols. Literacy skills are promoted and supported, directly or indirectly through play, reading books, scribbling, oral communication and interaction with other children and adult.

Importance of reading in Children
