A man has drowned after proposing to his girlfriend underwater during a "bucket list" holiday in Tanzania.Steven Weber and Kenesha Antoine were staying in a wooden cabin that had a partially submerged structure allowing them to look out under the ocean.
Footage shows the moment Mr Weber, from Baton Rouge in Louisiana, swam up to an underwater window before holding up an A4 sheet of paper asking Ms Antoine to marry him.
The note read: "I can't hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. But… Everything I love about you, I love more every day!"
Mr Weber, wearing a snorkel and flippers, then turned the note over to reveal words on the other side which read: "Will you please be my wife? Marry me???"
He then pulled an engagement ring out of his pocket before swimming out of view.
Ms Antoine subsequently posted footage of the proposal on Facebook where she is seen laughing with joy, along with the comment: "Yes! Yes! Yes!"But the would-be bride later posted an update revealing he had died - with Ms Antoine wrote that he "never emerged from those depths".
The US Department of State told the WBRZ that the US tourist died in Tanzania, but no other details were reported.

A Belgian air force F-16 fighter plane has crashed in north-western France, leaving one pilot caught on a high-voltage electricity line.
Both pilots were injured after they ejected from the plane near Lorient in Brittany, the Belgian air force said.
French media say the plane, reported to have been in good condition, came down further east, near Pluvigner.

The trapped man was retrieved from the power line after a two-hour rescue operation by French emergency services.
The power line was high voltage at 250,000 volts, local media reported.
The pilot had been flying at 500m (1,500ft), said the commander of the Belgian air force, Frederik Vansina.
Belgian media report the aeroplane was on a practice flight from Florennes in the Belgian province of Namur to a French airbase at Lann-Bihoué, some 30km (19 miles) from the crash site.
French news outlet Le Télégramme posted a photo from a great distance away which appeared to show a parachute dangling from a power line near a large pylon.
Other photos appeared to show black smoke billowing from the nearby area and a damaged roof on one home, which was reportedly only 50m (164ft) from the site of the crash.
Resident Patrick Kauffer told Le Telegramme that a wing of the plane had taken out part of the roof of his house, causing serious damage.
The crash also set fire to his shed and nearby trees, he added.
In one photo, sheets of metal appeared to be on fire in a wooded clearing and another shows a nearby maize field in flames.
The plane was not carrying weapons during its flight, officials said.

Several properties belonging to top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), including its president Amaju Pinnick, have been seized in a fresh corruption probe. The latest investigation and seizures are being carried out by the country's Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission's (ICPC).
The ICPC has published a newspaper advertisement about the properties seized - half of which belong to Pinnick.
According to the statement published in the Nigerian papers one of Pinnick's properties is in London.
It comes amidst wide-ranging claims over how money meant for football development allegedly disappeared.
"We can't go into further details beyond the fact that many officials of the NFF are under investigation," ICPC spokesperson, Rasheedat Okoduwa said.
"It's basically because what they have is in excess of what they have earned."
The ICPC has also taken control of properties belonging to the NFF second vice-president Shehu Dikko and the general secretary Muhamed Sanusi among others.
Neither Pinnick nor Sanusi wanted to comment on the move by the ICPC when contacted by the BBC, while Dikko was not answering his phone when contacted.
BBC Sport understands that this latest investigation into the NFF will also look at allegations of how sponsorship money generated from the second tier of the country's game was spent.
The ICPC investigation comes on the back of two separate cases brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and an ongoing one by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel (SPIP).
In May, the NFF told the BBC that he and four other top officials were being "victimised" and denied any wrongdoing over the alleged misappropriation of funds case brought by the SPIP for the recovery of public property. That case continues on 26 September.

A well-known gospel singer in Rwanda has surprised fans by revealing that he is gay. After coming out on a Christian group's YouTube channel last month, Albert Nabonibo said he's faced "horrible" rejection from family, friends and strangers alike. Nabonibo, who also works as an accountant, has been frozen out at his job and fears he may be fired.
"Some have insulted me, some have called me crazy and some stupid," he told the BBC this week. "But there are some who understand me—like my brother, who always encouraged me to be who I am. I will live with those who accept me and those who reject me."
The 35-year-old singer told the AP, "there's no going back, because I have to live my real life."
Some Rwandans have criticized Nabonibo on social media: "How can a gospel singer be a gay?" tweeted Gad Kwizera. "Let's say that Rwandan laws will protect him... will the God that he pretends to sing for support him while God himself prohibits homosexuality?"
Frank Mugisha, a leading Ugandan LGBT advocate, criticized those lashing out at the singer.
"People waste so much energy fighting people for who they choose to love," he tweeted. "If some one decides to love any one differently, how does it hurt you?"
And at least one senior government official offered Nabonibo his support.
"All Rwandans are born and remain equal in rights and freedoms," tweeted foreign minister Olivier Nduhungirehe. "Discrimination of any kind or its propaganda... are prohibited and punishable by law. Please continue singing and praising the Lord."
Referencing the Rwandan genocide, Nduhungirehe said "[of] all people in the world, Rwandans should be the first to understand that no group should be targeted, mocked, insulted, discriminated against or persecuted."
"We know where that ideology led to," he added. "Obviously, some of us didn't learn lessons from history."
While homosexuality is generally a taboo subject in the country, Nabonibo says he knows many LGBT people who live in the closet: "There is a long list of [gays] in your midst and they include pastors or churchgoers," he said.
"There are many like me, even in churches, the fact is that they hide it because of the mentality of the faithful and the community and for their safety," he told the BBC. "I feel sorry for people like me who live in fear, they should go out to be heard, because we have to be treated like other people."
Saying he could no longer "live in denial," he questions the "criticism and sadness" around his announcement. "What does it matter?" he said to the AP "What's important is that I have taken my choice."
Homosexuality was common among male Hutus and Tutsis in pre-colonial Rwanda, and remains legal today. The country has not seen the LGBT community turned into a political scapegoat to the extent of neighboring countries like Uganda. Rwanda was actually one of the only African countries to sign the United Nations joint statement condemning violence against LGBT people. But queer Rwandans face discrimination, blackmail, police entrapment, harassment and, yes, violence.

An explosion blew out windows and caused a fire at a huge Russian medical research center, one of only two in the world that stores the killer smallpox virus. The blast at the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology, also known as the Vector Institute, in Koltsovo, near the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, injured one worker who suffered third-degree burns.
Local officials have told state-run media that the blast was probably caused by a gas explosion in a room on the building's fifth floor during repairs.
State news agency TASS cited Koltsovo city head administrator Nikolai Krasnikov as saying that no biohazardous materials were stored where the explosion and blaze took place and that there is no threat to the general population.
There is not yet any indication from independent media outlets that the population is in danger. Some 13 fire trucks and 38 firefighters were sent to the scene to extinguish the fire, which covered 300 square feet.
The facility was created in 1975 and housed biological weapons research during the Soviet era. Spread across dozens of acres, it employs thousands of workers.
It is considered to be one of the world's leading epidemiological research centers, developing an Ebola vaccine earlier this year, according to TASS.
In 2004, Ebola researcher Antonina Presnyakova died at Vector after pricking herself with a needle that had the killer virus. The New York Times reported that there was a delay of several weeks before the incident was reported to the World Health Organization, which meant the agency's scientists "could not provide prompt advice on treatment that might have saved her life."
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists cited a report from PBS that a high-ranking Soviet official who defected to the United States in the 1990s had claimed smallpox was shifted to the site to conduct bioweapons research.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta is the only other place which stores samples of smallpox, which was declared eradicated in 1980, having killed up to 500 million people in the 20th century.

When interrogated, Yinusa said he went to rob at a nightclub in the Igbobi area of the state so he can raise money to secure the release of his other gang member who is currently being held at the Kirikiri prison.Yinusa was arrested at a nightclub in Igbobi while attempting to rob the club supervisor. Armed with a locally made shot gun, 4 live cartridges, a socket wrench, a chisel and a plier, Yinusa attempted to rob the night club supervisor but was apprehended.
When interrogated, Yinusa said:
“Prince Chika, currently serving prison sentence in Kirikiri for robbery, called me last week to help him hassle around for funds to secure his freedom from prison. I have visited him in the prison a week ago and he had called me from prison to appeal for my assistance. He gave me the location of this gun and some of the arms he used.
He has assured me to pay back within the first few weeks of regaining freedom. I retrieved all these arms from the bush where he kept them before heading for the operation. He told me that he bought the gun in Anambra State for a sum of N5000. Yesterday was the first day I would fire a gun during an operation. Everybody had already left the club in Morocco Road, Igbobi when I scaled the fence. I saw the supervisor, and at gunpoint, I requested for his wallet.
I felt he was wasting time, so, I shot him but he dodged it and raised alarm. I was escaping when I ran into a patrol team of RRS men responding to distress noise. I was a pickpocket and a burglar before venturing into robbery. Last week, I broke into three houses in Somolu. From each of the houses, I collected two mobile phones of my victims. I also got three laptops as well as jewelry. I sold them to Adamu Jubril.
