Please note that the application will only be accepted when it is complete, i.e. when all the required documents are attached. Should there be documents missing the application will be rejected and the applicant has to apply fresh for a new appointment. Complete documentation does not guarantee the
issuing of visas.

Using falsified documents will automatically result in the refusal of the
application. The visa fee amount of 60,00 Euro (only payable in 500 and 1.000 Naira bills) will NOT be reimbursed if the visa is refused, regardless of the reasons for the refusal. Application forms are free of charge.

Visa applications of minors are possible only if accompanied by a person entitled to custody. If this is not possible, the minor has to be accompanied by an authorized representative. The authorized representative has to bring along the original power of attorney as well as an identification card.

Every applicant is asked to provide the following mandatory documents (original + 1 copy of each document, unless otherwise specified) after having booked an appointment via our website www.nigeria.diplo.de:

• Valid passport + color copy of its data page – only E-Passports can be accepted, no observations or renewals allowed

• for non-Nigerian nationals residing in Nigeria: copy of Nigerian residence permit

• 2 passport photos according to biometric specifications, one attached to application form and one loose (both identical photos)

• Schengen visa application form

• travel health insurance

• copy of the round trip airline reservation with passenger reservation number and travel itinerary (it is recommended not to buy the ticket until the visa is granted)

• confirmed hotel booking or proof of any other accommodation in Germany

• color copy of all previous Schengen visas if applicable

• typed and signed sheet with the following information: name, d.o.b., place o.b., passport number, telephone number, email, postal address, contact in Germany (name and address)

• proof of registration as a professional music group by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Culture or PMAN (Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria)

• company's bank statement of the last three months (only bank statements that are stamped and signed are accepted)

• employment contract and personal bank statements of the last three months (only bank statements that are stamped and signed are accepted)

• if applicable proof of landed property

• evidence of performances during the last year (stage time, place, address and telephone number of the organizer/promoter)

• prepaid courier envelope by any major courier service

Financial Planning

• agreement between the music group and organizer in Germany

• rental cost for auditorium and number of seats available

• expenses for hotel accommodation

• hotel reservation

• cost of flight tickets

• estimate for feeding

• additional expenses, e.g. costumes, instruments, stage-lighting etc

• tour-plan including addresses of locations of the event

• selling price for entrance tickets

• anticipated profit

Personal

• Marriage Certificate (issued by the marriage registry) or, if traditionally married only, „affidavit of facts“ plus wedding pictures

• NPC Birth Certificate/s of minor children even if they are not traveling

This is to inform you that all checklists as well as application forms are free of costs. The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany hereby wishes to inform you that the competent alien's authority in Germany has to be notified about any longterm visa application.

The authority also has to give its consent according to the travel purpose. The visa fee amount is 75,00 Euro (only payable in 500 and 1.000 Naira bills). Please be informed that a visa application will be rejected in cases of bribery.

Every applicant is asked to provide the following mandatory documents (original + 2 copies of each document, unless otherwise specified) after having booked an appointment via our website www.nigeria.diplo.de:

• 2 Visa Application Forms (Application for a Residence Permit) – no copies required

• Valid passport +2 copies of its data page

• 2 signed declarations according to Section 54 Paragraph 2 Nr. 8 of the German Alien's Law

• 2 identical passport pictures according to biometric specifications

• School Leaving Certificates of Primary and Secondary School/ WAEC-Certificate

• Proof of previous academic studies/professional training/ work experience (if applicable)

• Birth Certificate from National Population Commission or Declaration of Age deposed to by head of Family

• Curriculum vitae of professional career, specifying the certificates, diplomas, etc. you have obtained

• German university degree or recognised foreign degree comparable to a German degree

• a printed (not handwritten) and personally signed letter of motivation providing information on the planned course of action to secure a job (sector, region, intended place of residence/accommodation WITH FULL ADDRESS etc.), max. one page (A4)

• Any additional evidence of your preparations to secure a job that can already be provided.

• Prepaid courier envelope by any major courier service

Proof of financial means for the duration of your stay, max. six months by one of the following options:

• fully funded blocked German bank account bearing a minimum amount of 853,- per month / 10.236,- € for one year. Further information you find on our webpage under the following Link: Blocked Account

• original official German declaration of sponsorship („Verpflichtungserklärung“) for the purpose of studies/ language course given before the competent German authority (Please note: Financing is usually only secured if declarant resides in Germany)

• proof of a scholarship financed from German public funds or European
  supported funds covering the arising costs

From November 1st, 2019 the General Consulate will only accept applications with fully funded blocked accounts OR original formal obligations OR a scholarship financed from German public funds or European supported funds.
