Nollywood actress, Sylvia Ukaatu, in a chat with Sunnewsonline has revealed her only regret in life, saying she took a blood oath with a former lover when she was just 18. .

According to her, every attempt for her to get married has proved abortive, with suitors disappearing on the day of their introduction. She says she wants the youth to learn from her own experience.

Her words: “It all started when I was 18 years old. I fell in love, deeply in love. I was so carried away at that tender age. I was lured into taking a blood oath with my then lover. .

I never knew the repercussions behind such move. I was young, naive and in love. We played along. I was happy. I was eager to settle down. Then love became sour. I tried to walk away. .

I begged to be freed but the guy refused, so I kept to myself and started living life to the fullest. Even when he travelled out of the country, I had so many failed relationships without knowing what was behind it.

Suitors were coming, but on the day of introduction, they would cancel without explanation. I waited for many years for him to come back. But he never did. I desperately wanted to start a family, but that wasn’t forthcoming. .

I tried so many relationships but they all failed. The guy finally came back last year and we spoke at length. I told him we should break the oath if he’s no longer interested in marrying me, but he ignored me. .

Then, a few months ago, my brother called me and said I should go and search for my fiancé on Facebook, that the guy just got married. I quickly rushed to Facebook and checked. .

I was shocked to discover that truly he just got married, but I laughed it over. Now, I can still feel the pains deep inside my heart. I want to warn the young ones out there. .

Love is not enough for blood oath. The guy deceived and used me. I ignorantly allowed myself to be caged for years. Let the youths learn from my experience.”

It is no longer news that yesterday, the most controversial housemate of the Big Brother Naija season 4 housemates, Tacha was disqualified for physical violence during a fight with fellow housemate, Mercy.

This move has gotten so many reactions from different celebrities all over Nigeria.
The latest being that of ex beauty queen, Dabota Lawson who has promised to cater for Tacha’s skincare and makeup kits.

She wrote: “Sincerely feel bad for. @symply_tacha . You guys will kill every inch of her self esteem and break her spirit. As a young girl seeing people especially men make fun her the way some of you are is really heart breaking . Imagine if she was your sister and people were treating her this way. Nobody is perfect , those of you maliciously attacking her in the name of dropping a comment or airing your views are no different from her . There’s no unpleasant smell that cannot be gotten rid of with the right skincare products so what’s the big deal? But she will never be able to get rid of the trauma this whole thing will cause her . Of all the addiction in the world, attention seeking seem to be worst of them all in this day and age . The way grown women and men have embarrassed themselves in the past 24 hours is beyond me. Too bad. I’m so scared for the world our kids are growing into. I would like to personally sponsor her to a full body makeover and aesthetic care with. Full set of makeup from and skin care product .. please get in touch with me let’s make you GLOW!!!0_1569753657128_tacha-labota2.jpeg

The National Youth Service Corps has paid one million insurance cover to the family of Precious Owolabi, the Channels Television reporter and serving corps member, who was shot dead during a bloody protest by members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in Abuja in July. The scheme has also processed and paid the families of two corps members-Okanlawon Ibrahim and Ibisaki Amachree who died during the conduct of the 2019 general elections.

Amachree was killed during the February 23, 2019 presidential election in Rivers State while Okanlawon died in a boat mishap in Ondo while serving as an ad hoc work deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission during the House of Assembly elections. The NYSC, had in a letter dated July 30th and sighted by our reporter, directed the insurance company engaged by the federal government on behalf of the scheme to process one million insurance benefit to the next of kin of the late Owolabi.

The insurance benefit was paid to Beracah Owolabi, the next of kin to the late Owolabi, by the insurance company on behalf of the NYSC. Beracah confirmed the payment of the amount to our reporter through telephone in Abuja. She said: “Yes they have made the payment to us. The payment was done in August.”

However, a top source at the NYSC told our reporter that the Independent National Electoral Commission was yet to pay Okanlawon and Amichree their insurance benefits as stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the scheme had with INEC. The source explained that INEC was supposed to provide a temporary insurance cover for corps members who served as ad hoc staff during elections. When our reporter contacted the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, INEC, Festus Okoye, last week Sunday to find out if the commission have processed any insurance benefit for the slain corps members, he promised to get back to the reporter on Tuesday.

Also, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, in a Whatsapp message, only said: “The commission has an insurance package for the corps members serving as Ad-Hoc staff during elections and we have a history of responding compassionately when corps members or any ad-Hoc staff is injured or killed. Also, INEC sent a delegation led by Mr Patrick Uzoka, an Electoral Officer to condole with the family of Mrs Ibisaki Amachree who lost her life in Rivers State during the February 23 Presidential Election.”
