The Police at Ejigbo Division led by CSP Olabisi Okuwobi have rescued a 16-year old house maid who attempted to commit suicide after she was defiled by a 52-year old married man, Victor Jacob, in Ago area of Okota, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the girl was rescued in Ejigbo by Police operatives on routine monitoring in the area, who saw her when she bought the deadly insecticide known Sniper to drink. She was rescued and taken to the Police Station where she confessed and told the Police that she actually bought the Sniper to drink in order to end her life.
In the course of investigation, one Victor Jacob, who was married with three children aged 30, 28 and 25, was arrested by the Police at Ago Palace, Okota Division, for allegedly defiling the victim in their area at Apena Street in Ago, Okota.
The guardian of the victim alleged that the suspect, Jacob, defied the girl by engaging her in marathon sex inside his Salon, eventually impregnated her and then tried to abort it.When the guardian suspected changes in her body and informed her that she will be taken to the hospital for test, she fled and ran to Ejigbo area, where she had intended to terminate her life before the Police intervened.
The Police later transferred her to Ago Division where Jacob was undergoing interrogation over the defilement which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited Ago Police Division, sources confirmed the arrest of the suspect, Jacob, saying he will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence. It was gathered that Jacob admitted that she had slept with the girl repeatedly and she told him that she was about 20.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the girl’s actual age has become contentious as she had told the Police at Ejigbo Division that she is 19 years old while at the Ago Division she claimed being 16.
Both the suspect, Jacob and the victim hail from Akwa Ibom State. So when they met, they easily connected and started engaging in sex before the act was exposed from the drama surrounding the pregnancy.
