  • Form sentences with the new words

Form Sentences with the New Words

  1. The old man went on a journey of no return
  2. She said Shade has gotten admission into the university
  3. The problem is complicated
  4. Tade’s wristwatch is really expensive
  5. I enjoyed the visit to the museum
  6. The hawkers were sent off the street by the Governor of Lagos State

Presentation:

Step 1: Teacher ask the pupils to pronounce and spell the new words from the previous lesson

Step 2: Teacher pronounces the new words in the new topic while the pupils repeats after the teacher

Step 3: Pupils look for the meaning of the new words in the dictionary and form sentences with them

Step 4: Pupils answers the comprehension questions

Evaluation:

  1. With whom did Bola and Kunle spend the holiday?

Bola and Kunle spent the holiday with their brother Olu

  1. In what way was Lagos different from Enugu?

Lagos was bigger than Enugu and the traffic was worse

  1. What did they see at the Museum?

They saw tools, traps and instruments which were very old

  1. Why didn’t Bola see the University?

Bola didn’t see the University because she went to visit her aunt

  1. Why does Olu like the Federal Palace Hotel?

Olu liked the Federal Palace Hotel because it was quiet and cool.

Conclusion: Teacher moves round for inspection, marking and correction of notes where necessary
