Victor Asemota, a poplar Nigerian investor who must have had versatile knowledge about 5G Network after pioneering several efforts in African Information Technology, has publicly disowned his brother, a popular Nigerian Pastor, Chris Oyakhilome who is the founder and president Christ Embassy over claims on the controversial network.

Chris Oyakhilome is my brother. We grew up in Benin together and his parents were close mine. My mother still goes to his church and loves him like a son. We have had our differences as brothers but after that 5G video, I have now disowned him until he retracts it. WTF?????

Asemota announced his decision to cut ties with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome after the respected Clergyman used his platform to spread conspiracy theory that blames 5G network for Covid-19 pandemic.

Oyakhilomeh in a lengthy video uploaded on Youtube explained how the recently launched 5G network is linked to the coronavirus pandemic currently ravaging the world.

Nigerian Couple identified as John Lawrence Ogwuche and Faith Nathaniel Odang, has wedded in their home over Coronavirus lock down.

Ogwuche said the decision to go ahead with the wedding was taken by the couple.

The couple whose wedding photo has gone viral on social media decided not to change their wedding date like many others in the same situation as they have done by postponing their wedding till after the COVID-19 scare.

The couple got married in their living room with only 10 guests in attendance.

The wedding was a simple ceremony due to the order given by the federal and state government to observe total lockdown in order to prevent the public from the world trending pandemic coronavirus.

The wedding was said to be a lovely event.

Ogwuche took to social media platform facebook as he shared the news with some photos, see below:

“It takes people that knows what they want to go ahead with with such an occasion. Wedding is not about how much you raise or the number of people you pull. Wedding is an individual thing, how you want it. What happened yesterday was an agreement between the two of us,”

“Yes, coronavirus is on its own and wedding is on its own. So, we decided to go ahead with our wedding not minding the coronavirus in the country. In the part of the country we had our wedding, we have not confirmed any case.

“It was because of precaution that the state was locked down and this is an occassion we have been planning for, a date has been fixed. So, I see no point postponing it because people are not going to attend among other issues. We don’t care, we had our wedding and our reception.”

“My wedding should pass a message to those who had fixed their wedding,” he said.

An unidentified Nigerian single Mother has reportedly buried her 3-months old baby alive, the Single mother who was caught in the act revealed her reason for committing such an atrocity.

According to the lady, she buried her 3-month old baby because she met a wealthy man who promised to marry her.

According to reports, the single mother believed the rich man and she decided to get herself rid of the baby in fear of the man not willing to marry her if he finds out she already had a child out of wedlock.

So she decided to bury the child while the child was asleep. An eye witness said, she buried the child inside an uncompleted building close to where she lived.

The Lagos State Police Command has invited controversial singer Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley for interrogation for attending a party on Saturday hosted by Nollywood star Funke Akindele for her husband’s birthday.

In a statement by Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday for questioning after they took Funke Akindele into their custody for breaching government ban on large gatherings.

Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa, hosted the party in honour of her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz.

Naira Marley was one of the stars that attended the party in a Amen Estate along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, which contravened Government’s restriction order on COVID-19 pandemic.

“Funke Akindele was arrested. Investigation is ongoing, efforts are intensified to arrest the remaining persons in the video, among whom are Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz.

“They are in their best interests urged to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday 6th April, 2020 or risk being declared wanted,” the statement said.

The Lagos State Police Command said it has arrested Nollywood star, Funke Akindele for defying the government’s order on lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.

According to a statement by Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, the movie producer was arrested for breaching government ban on large gatherings, after hosting a party at her Amen Estate house to celebrate the birthday of her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello.

The police further invited Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday for questioning.

The statement reads in part: “Attention of Lagos State Police Command was drawn to a viral video showing a large number of persons mainly in the entertainment industry in an Estate, along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki axis, Lagos celebrating a birthday party organised by Funke Akindele Bello and her husband.

“Police detectives from the State CID Yaba were promptly drafted to the location. Funke Akindele was arrested.

“Investigation is ongoing, efforts are intensified to arrest the remaining persons in the video, among whom are Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz. They are in their best interests urged to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday 6th April, 2020 or risk being declared wanted,” it added.

The award-winning actress came under fire on Sunday morning for disobeying government order during coronavirus outbreak.

After receiving backlash on social media, the actress has come out to defend herself why she held a party despite the government ban.

The Lagos State Government on Sunday discharged another five Coronavirus patients after testing negative twice and lost one person to the disease.

This bring to 29 the total number of Coronavirus patients discharged in Lagos so far.

The State currently has 115 cases out of which 24 have been discharged.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed on Sunday that five new patients had been discharged.

He said the patients comprises two male and three female, including a a 10-year-old girl.

.”Today, I am happy to inform you that five more patients comprising two males and three females, including a 10-year-old girl, have tested negative twice, consecutively, to #COVID-19 and have been discharged to reunite with their families. This brings to 29 the total number of patients who have fully recovered and discharged from our facility at Yaba.

“It is however sad that the State has recorded another death, bringing to two the total number of deaths from COVID19 in Lagos State.

“Although, there is a strong indication that the State is winning the battle against the disease, which is ravaging several countries across the world, but we need to remain steadfast and aggressive to curtail the spread.

“I need to reiterate that the result of tests conducted by our health workers on the recovered patients is a confirmation that they pose no threat to the community,” he said.

The governor advised Lagosians against stigmatising the discharged patients as this act could bring feelings of shame, hopelessness and despair., saying “We need to do all we can to support them in whatever form to get over the memories as soon as possible.”

He thanked front-line health workers who were taking good care of the patients, members of the Lagos State Health family and the Emergency Operations Centre for their kindness and flexibility in managing the patients and checking the spread of the disease.

Sanwo stated that as the disease ravaged countries all over the world, Lagos State would continue to do the needful in terms of responding to emergencies in an effort to ensure the health and well-being of the people.

“We will do our best to make sure that other patients at the facility receive the best of care and attention so that they can return home to join their families and the community soonest.

“In order to contain the spread of the disease, I strongly advise you to continue observing Social Distancing. Let us remain indoors and shun the temptation to breach the presidential restriction that has been placed on our State so that the gains recorded so far are not eroded.

“You should regularly and thoroughly wash your hands with soap and clean, running water and where water is not readily available, an alcohol-based hand sanitiser can be used.

“It has come to our notice that some of our youths still engage in sporting and related activities, this is very unfortunate. This act could jeopardise our efforts and the laudable intention of the lockdown. I, therefore, advise you to adhere strictly to our instructions so that together we can win the battle,” he said.

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has asked the Federal Government and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to provide spending details of public funds and private sector donations to provide socio-economic benefits to the country’s poorest and most vulnerable people.

It also asked them for details of beneficiaries of any cash payments, cash transfers, food distribution and other benefits during the lockdown in Abuja; Lagos and Ogun states because of COVID-19.

SERAP is also asking the Federal Government and CBN to: “disclose information on the details of implementation of the school feeding programme during the lockdown and closure of schools in several states where the programme is being implemented, including the number of children that have so far benefited from the programme and the names of the communities, since the lockdown and closure of schools, as well as the number of cooks engaged.”

In two Freedom of Information (FoI) requests sent to Ms Sadia Umar-Farouk, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disasters Management and Social Development, and Mr Godwin Emefiele, CBN governor, SERAP said: “We are seriously concerned that millions of the country’s poorest and most vulnerable people have not benefited from the announced palliatives, donations, reported cash payments, cash transfers and other benefits.”

SERAP said: “Providing socio-economic benefits to the country’s poorest especially at this time of COVID-19 crisis is a matter of human rights, not charity. It is also implicit in Nigerians’ right to freely use their natural wealth and resources, which ought to be spent for the public good. Ensuring that relief funds and donations are used to provide much-needed benefits to beneficiaries is critical to keeping people alive, and addressing vulnerabilities and inequalities in the country.”

In the FoI requests dated 4 April, 2020 and signed by SERAP deputy director Kolawole Oluwadare, the organization said: “Providing the information would help to address the concerns by many Nigerians regarding allegations of corruption and politicization in the distribution of benefits, improve public trust, and enhance the integrity of the entire processes and modes of distribution of reliefs/benefits to these Nigerians.”

The FoI requests read, in part: “Rather than making physical cash payments to the country’s poorest and most vulnerable people, we urge you to begin electronic cash transfers to all beneficiaries through individuals’ Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs), already available through the banks. This would be cost-effective at this time of crisis, provide immediate and significant benefits, as well as give individuals and families the freedom to spend the money on goods and services that best meet their particular needs.

“If we have not heard from you within 7 days of the receipt and/or publication of the FoI requests, the Registered Trustees of SERAP shall take all appropriate legal actions under the Freedom of Information Act to compel you to comply with our requests.

“Nigerian authorities are locking down states without adequately making provisions for the access of the country’s poorest and most vulnerable people to basic necessities of life like food, healthcare, and other basic needs during the duration of the lockdown, and to address the corrosive impacts of COVID-19 on these Nigerians.

“Providing direct, regular, and unconditional electronic cash transfers to the country’s poorest and the most vulnerable people, including workers and pensioners that have not been paid for months is the best to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the country, and to save millions of Nigerians’ lives. The power to spend cash helps preserve a person’s basic human dignity.

“We urge you to refer to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for prompt, thorough and transparent investigations of allegations of corruption in the distribution of relief funds and donations for COVID-19 and the politicization of the process for the distribution funds, as well as to urge the anti-corruption bodies to effectively prosecute any credible cases of corruption.

“We are concerned that some 80 million of the country’s poorest and most vulnerable people would be negatively affected by the lockdown and stay-at-home order without effective, transparent and direct socio-economic intervention funds, food, standard health care services, clean water, and other reliefs by the authorities.

“We request you to provide us with copies of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) and the social national registers and the lists of beneficiaries under these registers that have so far benefited from any palliatives, donations, cash payments/transfers and other benefits during the lockdown.

“According to our information, following the announcement by President Muhammadu Buhari of lockdown in Lagos and Ogun states and Abuja to reduce the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the Federal Government reportedly started disbursing N20,000 Conditional Cash Transfer to each of the country’s poorest and most vulnerable people at the Kwali Area Council of Abuja.

“According to reports, over 11 million of the country’s poorest and most vulnerable people have been identified in 35 states to benefit from the Federal Government cash transfers and other palliatives and reliefs.

“We urge you to publish weekly spending details on COVID-19 relief funds and donations and the list of all beneficiaries.”

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has explained why her husband celebrated his birthday which led to social gathering amidst coronavirus pandemic.

The star actress and her producer husband JJC Skillz early Sunday morning came under heavy bashing from Nigerians on social media.

The backlash that trailed the celebrity couple was due to the house party they recently held in celebration of JJC Skillz’s 43rd birthday.

In a video clip that went viral on social media, the couple were seen dancing to singer Naira Marley’s “Tesu Mole” song.

The house party was held at their home in Amen Estate, located in Ibeju-Lekki axis of The Lekki Peninsula, Lagos.

Following the video’s release, angry Nigerians called for the arrest of the actress and her husband for their breaking the rules of “social distancing” to prevent the spread of the virus.

However, in another video on Sunday afternoon, Funke explained that the people seen in the video were workers in her studio who live outside Lagos but were caught up with the lockdown when it was announced by the federal government unexpectedly.

A 36-year-old man, Bryan Indimuli has been confirmed dead after being stabbed by his 25-year-old wife, Joy Indeche at their residence in Ikoli Village in Malava Constituency, Kakamega County of Kenya.

Father of the deceased, John Indimuli said the incident occurred after his son complained that Indeche tripped over a chair and the ugali (maize porridge eaten in east and central Africa) she was carrying fell on the floor.

He said; “My son suspected his wife had taken alcohol, hence her wobbly feet, which led to her tripping over and resulting in the fall of the ugali"

Following her husband's attempt to cane her, Indeche picked a kitchen knife and drove it into his abdomen repeatedly. The lady stabbed her husband multiple times before turning the kitchen knife on herself. She is currently fighting for her life at Kakamega County Referral Hospital, where she was rushed to by their neighbours.

Ikoli Assistant Chief Walter Moses Namutali said; “Her intestines were ripped out."

John Indimuli admitted that his son's marriage was filled with unending conflicts. He told K24TV;

“One year ago, the two had gone separate ways before reuniting. My son had married Indeche when she had a daughter from a previous relationship. The two would, thereafter, got a son together."

Mzee Indimuli, a police officer in Busia County revealed that they buried the deceased on Saturday night, in compliance with the county government’s directive on burials during this period of COVID-19 crisis.

A crestfallen lady has shared a video of how she caught her best friend having s*.x with her boyfriend in their own home as she went to town.

According to reports, the lady’s friend identified as Theresa, went to her friend’s apartment where she and her boyfriend live, thinking she was not going to return from town soon.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the Lagos government will pay maternity bills and the cost of treating emergency patients in the state hospitals.

He made this known on Saturday at Lagos House, Marina, while giving newsmen an update on the COVID-19 lockdown in the state.

Sanwo-Olu said that the state government would bankroll the medicare costs to cushion the effects of the lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

”As additional ameliorating measure to complement the welfare packages previously announced, the Lagos State Government will, for the duration of the restriction on movement, take full responsibility for the medical bills of all patients at all Lagos State-owned secondary healthcare facilities.

”The patients to benefit are those that fall in the following category of Emergency/Casualty cases, including registration, laboratory tests, surgeries, and drugs.

”The patients that fall in the category of Maternity Cases, include normal delivery and Caesarean Sections (CS).

”What this means is that, at this time, patients with the above-listed conditions will not need to make any payments to access treatment and care at all our 27 General Hospitals across the state,” he said.

The governor commended law-abiding residents of the state and urged them to keep being responsible by obeying all the directives issued by the health experts.

He said that these directives included practicing social distancing, shunning large gatherings, covering the mouths when coughing or sneezing, self-isolation and contacting a doctor if feeling unwell.

Sanwo-Olu reprimanded those who insisted on flouting the safety directives and guidelines.

”To those who seek to take undue advantage of their fellow Lagosians at this time, and all those whose aim is to undermine the efforts of the various health authorities responsible for keeping us safe, let this strong warning go out.

”The strong arms of the law will catch up with you sooner than later, and you will be brought to justice swiftly and comprehensively,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu said that the government would not hesitate to prosecute anyone flouting the directives of the lockdown.

He said the authorities had already impounded over 400 commercial buses for flouting the order.

Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday said the government would henceforth treat certain categories of patients free of charge in its secondary health facilities to cushion the effects of lockdown of the state to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

This is coming as the government impounded 400 danfo buses for violating the restriction order.

Sanwo-Olu, who disclosed this at a press conference to give update on the ongoing lockdown of the state after meeting with critical stakeholders said the measure was another intervention by the state government to cushion the biting effects of the lockdown on the people, especially the vulnerable members of the society.

He said, “Additional ameliorating measure to complement the welfare packages previously announced, as follows: The Lagos State Government will, for the duration of the restriction on movement, take full responsibility for the medical bills of all patients who fall in the following categories, at all Lagos State-owned secondary healthcare facilities:

“1.Emergency / Casualty cases, including registration, laboratory tests, surgeries, and drugs.: Maternity Cases: Normal delivery and Caesarean Sections. What this means is that, at this time, patients with the above-listed condition will not need to make any payments to access treatment and care at all our 27 General Hospitals across the state.”

He said the state government will not hesitate to prosecute anyone found to be flouting the directives of the government on lockdown, saying over 400 commercial buses have been impounded for flouting the order.

The governor said another COVID-19 patient was also discharged from its facility today bringing the total number of people discharged to 25.

Unidentified gunmen early on Saturday kidnapped Hamman-Jolde Gatugel, leader of a national union in Adamawa state.

Gatugel, chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the state was kidnapped in his hometown of Mayo-Belwa at 00.50 a.m.

It was not clear why he was abducted.

DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, the Spokesperson of the command, confirmed the kidnapping in a statement.

“The Command has received a report of the kidnapping the state Chairman of NULGE at his hometown, Mayo-Belwa LGA.

“The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Audu Madaki, has quickly responded and directed the Command’s Special Anti Kidnap Unit, DPOs of Karewa and Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area Divisions to swing into action.

“We are appealing to the general public especially Mayo-Belwa citizens to help the unit with useful information,” Nguroje said.

Mr Emma Fashe, the state Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said the union received the news with shock.

“Up till now, the suspected kidnappers have not made any statement,” Fashe said.

Mr Kabiru Kelly, the Information Officer of Mayo-Belwa local Government Council, said the NULGE Chairman was kidnapped in his house.

He said there has been no form of communication with the abductors

Nigeria has recorded another five new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total national figures to 214 cases.

According to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the five new cases were recorded in Bauchi and Abuja.

It said three cases were recorded in Bauchi States and two at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Founder, Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has revealed a frightening story of the deadly Coronavirus and the plan for a new world order by agents of Satan.

Oyakhilome, in a message said what is happening right now has nothing to do with a virus as the world had chosen to be deceived.

“What they don’t tell you is that your body can be connected. Did you know that once that happens you can also be controlled as your devices are controlled. Meaning that signals can be sent to your brain, your brain can be controlled. Once that happens you are no longer yourself. The idea is controlling the new race.

“So since they can’t vaccinate everyone, they started vaccinating children and raising them that way. You wanna know what’s going on in the world? There’s a movie called “Divergent” from 2014. “Both strategies lead to achieving their initial plan, vaccination with digital ID. If these groups were not hiding anything,……1. They forced everyone to stay indoors (aka quarantine/lockdown), but they have people busy installing 5G connections outside.

“2. Why do they get angry when others express opposite views. They taking down their websites and posts. E.g 1. Youtube deleted many videos exposing this conspiracy, 1 by former Vodafone boss. E.g 2. Facebook deleted post by Brazil president exposing their plans.”

Oyakhilome added: “If you still don’t yet know what is going on, know today; it’s not about the Coronavirus. This is basically a group of people serving a devilish cause trying to checkmate humanity to hell. Don’t be ignorant, neither silent. This isn’t a time to sit on the fence because there is no fence. This isn’t about religion because as you can see, there isn’t one either. It boils down to two options: Life or Death.

“We are still in the age of the Church and the anti-christ cannot advance his plans yet. The Bible is clear that after the Rapture of the Church, the son of perdition will be revealed. Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has ordered the suspension of Mr. Abdulmumuni Danga, Commissioner for Water Resources in the state.

According to SaharaReporters, Danga was suspended over a report that he assaulted and raped a lady over a Facebook post.

The lady, identified as Elizabeth, was reported to have been kidnapped after she told the commissioner on Facebook to assist his sister and family financially.

Elizabeth said, “I saw a post by a local comedian of the commissioner sharing food and his family are complaining that he doesn’t attend to them, that was why I made the post.

“On the 29th of March, I made a post about the commissioner.

“After making the post, they started attacking me on social media and he sent some guys to come and get me.

“On getting to me, they flogged me. He flogged me himself, stripped me naked and made a video of me threatening to post it when next I make any public comment about it.

“They also made me apologise that what I said about him was not true under duress. I had to do so because they were all over me.

“The commissioner also smashed my phone and destroyed it totally, saying that maybe I might have been recording what was happening or I have been recording before getting there.”

Elizabeth also alleged that the commissioner forcefully had sex with her.

“He did not release me and took me to a hotel nearby. Over the night, he made advances and raped me,” she said.

However, on Friday, Governor Yahaya Bello suspended Abdulmumuni Danga and ordered an accelerated investigation into the case.

Two Nigerian soldiers have threatened to rape the mothers of the youths in Warri, Delta state who allegedly killed one of their colleagues yesterday April 2.

Recall that during the enforcement of the lockdown exercise in the state on Thursay April 2, youths in Ugbuwangue community in Warri, Delta state had a clash with some soldiers after a youth leader identified as Jospeh Pessu, was allegedly shot dead by a soldier. Read here.

The youths pursued the soldiers and attacked them physically. Unconfirmed reports claim that one of the soldiers died during the faceoff.

Two aggrieved members of the Army made a video, threatining to sexually abuse the mothers, wives and daughters of the youths that allegedly killed their colleague. They threatened to infect the girls and women with HIV.

Update: Human Rights lawyer takes up case

Human rights activist, Segun Awosanya, popularly known as Segalink, has revealed that investigation is now ongoing and that the two soldiers will be arrested before the end of today for prosecution.

He wrote: "This is barbaric and unprofessional. Needless to say that investigation is ongoing and these miscreants will be arrested before end of day. The @HQNigerianArmy is an institution & with the cooperation of the public it will not be denigrated by cancerous nodes such as this."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed all its missions abroad to compile a list of willing Nigerian nationals who wished to come back home, The PUNCH reports.

Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, disclosed that this was a sequel to requests by Nigerians stranded abroad in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

She, however, said that the MFA had instructed that “the financial implications will be borne by the prospective evacuees, who will be compulsorily quarantined when they returned”.

According to a statement on Friday by the Head, Media and Public Relations Unit, NIDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, interested citizens should inform the embassy in their country of residence about their intention to return to Nigeria.

It said, “The interested Nigerians are advised to inform the missions in the various countries they are in, which will then collate and coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“To this end, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa urged Nigerians stranded abroad willing to return home to key into this Federal Government gesture by providing information to the mission in their respective host countries.”

The PUNCH had reported that some countries including the UK, US, Israel and member States of the European Union had begun evacuating their citizens from Nigeria using emergency flights permitted by the Federal Government.
